The Yak Ru game symbolizes our respect for these hairy, high mountain, beasts of burden that support the lives of the few people hearty enough to endure the Yaks environment above 4000 meters.

Some wild Yak species are increasingly vulnerable to human encroachment, shrinking pasturelands and climate change. This game intends to increase awareness and protect our planets wild and endangered
animals such as Yaks.

In Nepal, a group of mountain bikers started a unique enduro-style mountain biking race in the Annapurna region through a remote mountain village originally named “Yak Ru”. The race is now named Yak Ru and is intended to honor both the village and the wild and domestic yaks of the region. The game is simple: You must release horns to the different species of yaks as they approach the mountain biker. But be careful, don’t give horns to the white Yaks - they already have horns. You save Yaks by giving them horns! Play the Yak saving game and feel good!
